A wonderful thank you card

My sweet friend Terri made this adorable thank you note for me. I love the colors she used. I am forever stacking the punched flowers together to make them 3 dimensional but I love this alternative (I bet they are easier to mail). I am so ready for spring and this certainly helps.

I haven't gone over to the Big Shot yet but I am really loving all the texture folders and the framelets and such. My husband is gonna hate the new tool (when I get it).

I love the little flecks of color she used here.

Quick B-Day card

I work with one of the nicest, friendliest, funniest, most generous ladies I have ever met. Yes, I gush but spending 180 days with someone through thick and thin can really bond a person.  I am a sign language interpreter and I work mostly in the education setting.  I work kinder to college.  This year has been the best year I have had in a long time. I work in 4th grade with 2 students and their teacher Terri is a friend of mine. She has been a teacher for quite a while and still has passion for her work and wants to make a difference. I admire her love for her job, that is not to say there are not bad days but she handles it so well.  Anyway, her birthday was last week and I wanted to make her something special.

I punched out some petals for the flower. I ripped a page from a dictionary and distressed it in brown.  I punched the leaves and sponged them in green. I used a roller stamp for the back ground and hand cut the tag and strips of paper glued to the top.

I added an punched butterfly and some tulle behind the flower.

I found this Mexican lavender at Sprouts and since I knew Terri likes to garden I hoped she could put this some place under a window and smell the beautiful scent all the time.  I punched out the pink tags and used some thickers to spell out happy birthday. Then I stapled them to a string and used some skewers to tie it to.

Brownie swap and Henry III's iPod craft

My daughter finally decided to join something and it is Girl Scouts. She is a Brownie. Her troop is having a masquerade ball in June and they want to make a swap for the other troops to join in.  We came up with mini masks. Here are a few of the samples I came up with.

I have a 6th grader and he had an assignment to decorate an iPod for class. He came up with this. Pretty snazzy for a boy I think.

Teacher appreciation gifts.

I am a Pinterest craft lifter. I love all the inspiration I get from all the wonderful and talented crafty people out there. How did I ever survive without Pinterest?  I am glad I didn't wait 4 or 5 years to join like I did with Facebook. Have a look at what I made for the teachers this year. I gave them to my two children's teachers, the two student teachers I work with and the teacher I work with.
I bought the frames from the dollar tree. I punched out a biz zillion flowers from a discarded dictionary. I layered several together and then sponged the matching color inside the frame on the flower.
I hot glued the flowers to the frames and I glued a piece of lace to the pen and tied it to the frame.  I wrote a message on the glass and then I was done.

I raided my scrap stash and put together these tags.  I like the collaged way they turned out.

All wrapped up and ready to deliver.

Birthday medallion

We went to dinner with the birthday girl and I had to make her a special little medallion so the waitresses could fuss all over her.  I used my scoring plate to make the lines and used two strips to for the medallion.

Bella's birthday card.

My dear friend's daughter is celebrating her fourth birthday.  She is the cutest little girl and loves everything princess.  I was thrilled to go girly with this one since my daughter is anti pink and princess these days.

I don't know about you but if I can use a punch on anything I will. I used the cupcake punch and actually cut out the bunting by hand.

I love adding a little bling to my cards and this was too easy.  I hope they like it.
