the collection |
One final card in the collection. I made several cards and now all have been given away. They worked so well for kid birthdays. |
this is where I used the extra material from my workout pants that are now workout shorts. |
I cut off the finished edge (hem) and then sewed a stich along the whole strip. |
when I got to the end I pulled the thread and created the ruffel and then made it form the flower shape. |
using the same thread I made some anchor stiches the keep the material in the shape I wanted. |
I added a button to the center of this flower. I think it is just the right touch. |
I glued some ribbon to the hair clips I wanted to use. |
Using the same glue (fabric tack) I glued the clip the the flower. |
both are super cute and have just a little differnt look. |
these are the faces begging for me to take the kittens home. |
Ginger and Pepper taking a nap |
being together is the most satisfing feeling |
sharing the love, Pepper is techincally Cami's kitten |
Ginger/Jordan is getting some Cami love. |
this is where I started. I was looking for something fresh and color coordinated. |
I started to fill the jars with things I have from my collections. |
I used shells, sequins, flowers and plants. |
It is hard to see but the mossaic in the background but it says CdeBaca and was made by our good friend and neighbor Larry Holloway. He can create anything using this technique. I just love his work. |
This is how it ended. I am pretty happy and it didn't cost a cent. I reused or repurposed things I already had. It isn't too girly. |
I made a few flags to stash in my plants |
this is the shirt before I got to it. |
supplies I used |
for the large flower, I cut about a 2 inch by 10 inch strip off the shirt. |
I folded it in half and stitched the wrong sides togethet all the way to the end. |
I didnt tie off the thread but pulled the thread gently and gathered the material. |
As you pull the material it will gather and you will need to encourage it to form a flower shape. |
add some stitches to secure the flower so it will not unravel. |
this is the finished product. |
here are a few variations with the same material. |
the flower with the leaves is a held together with fabrick tack glue. It is done with twisting the material and a glueing as you go. |
